The George Karl Foundation
The George Karl Foundation is a catalyst of change, bringing together powerful partners to improve the cancer journey, beginning with educating people about cancer prevention to navigating patients through cancer treatments and ultimately to living healthy after surviving cancer. The George Karl Foundation (GKF) was founded in 2012 by Denver Nuggets Head Coach George Karl and Kim Van Deraa
Model of Success
George Karl continues personal tradition of excellence
When the Denver Nuggets won their 42nd game of 2012-13, it marked coach George Karl's 21st straight season with a .500 record or better, tying Phil Jackson for the longest such streak in NBA history.
Karl enjoyed 10 consecutive winning seasons from 1991-2001 before going 41-41 with the Milwaukee Bucks. He has since strung together 10 more winning seasons, including nine with the Nuggets.
In the process, Karl won his 400th career game as Denver's coach on Feb. 19. He is now within reach of Doug Moe (432) for the most victories in franchise history.
